Aurora

Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is an Norwegian music writer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, was released in May of 2015 by Decca Records to great approval from music journalists and media. She's recorded a variety of well-known covers, such as Half the World Away (by Oasis) for the Christmas advert. Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) that have been widely praised. She gained some further recognition via a blog post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the song Runaway. Enjoy the celebration of this special event. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is of finding an attic piano and being awed by the sound it could produce. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to learn music more as a hobby than as a job. In order to do so she started writing her own songs that were her own creations. She acknowledges Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and Bjork for being among her inspirations. She began performing her songs publicly when her mother said they might help others not to gain fame with her work, but instead help people see around them realize the importance of their work and how they could impact the world. She began playing the piano at the age of six, and began creating music when she was nine. Family members didn't even have any idea about it until she was fourteen. There was no way she could have imagined to become Aurora. The only thing she loves is writing songs. To her music, is the most effective means of communicating anything.
